Our Practices

Clarke Family Farms utilizes regenerative practices to promote soil health, biodiversity, and sustainability. Our poultry help by naturally fertilizing the soil with their manure, scratching and aerating the soil, and controlling pests. This approach aims to mimic natural ecosystems, improve soil fertility, and reduce the reliance on synthetic inputs. Overall, regenerative poultry farming can lead to healthier, more resilient farms and ecosystems.

Our chicks are sourced directly from a hatchery in Michigan that provides us with chicks without hormones, antibiotics or vaccines. All our chickens are pasture raised and are moved daily to provide them with fresh pasture, grass, clover and bugs. Our feed is locally sourced from Mennonite farms. Farmer Jed has been in the fields where the feed is grown and picks up the feed directly from the farm where the feed is milled. We also maintain 30-day fresh feed on all out birds. Once it is time to process our birds we utilize a USDA-approved processor but more importantly they are an authorized organic processor that does use any harsh chemicals or bleaches in the process of processing the chickens.

Clarke Family Farms isn't trying to do anything new, just provide chickens like the ones your great grandparents would have enjoyed. So our farm takes the extra step to raise and provide our community of customers with the highest quality chicken that is not just better tasting but a heathier chicken.
